A Qatar Airways Aircraft had to perform an emergency landing while it was traveling from the Thiruvananthapuram Airport. According to sources, this event had happened due to the sudden sickness of the Air craft’s commander. The flight administration was actually not aware that an emergency of this nature could even occur so they have termed this as a spontaneous emergency that was dealt with in a professional manner.
The credit of landing the aircraft safely goes to the co-pilot that had taken charge of the flight QR 507. Furthermore, the landing took place at the Goa Airport at around 7 am. The Airport director BCH Negi said that the landing had taken place after all the necessary clearances.
He also notified the press that he received a message from the Aircraft that the pilot was feeling uneasy and therefore the plane sought for an emergency landing. The Qatar Airways also confirmed that the flight traveling from Trivandrum to Doha was diverted to the Goa International Airport. Further adding that this all happened one hour and forty minutes after the departure of the Aircraft.
The Statement also added that a relief aircraft was dispatched by the administration to the city of Goa. This was done in order to furry the passengers, who were stranded on the Goa Airport, to their respective destinations. Thus, the new flight, which was sent to the rescue, landed at Doha at around 17:30 hours. Moreover, this was all carried out according to the Qatar Airways Procedure in these instances and circumstances.
