The official sources have confirmed that Emirates airlines would be launching their air bus A380 scheduled flights from new Islamabad Airport to Dubai in July 2018. The airlines management has gained permission from the Civil Aviation Authority for scheduling the passenger jet A380 flights. The civil Aviation Authority has confirmed that the airport is well equipped with a 12000 feet highway that has the capacity to bear the weight of the double decked jetliner which is why aircraft such as A380, Boeing 777 and the Airbus A350 can land at this airport.
The A380 jetliner is the world’s largest passenger aircraft that has the capacity to carry 489 and 615 passengers at a time. The aircraft has a double deck, wide body with four engines that can run for 8,500 nautical miles (15,700 km) becoming the second and the fourth longest non-stop scheduled flight in the world. The aircraft has a cursing speed of Mach 0.85 which is about 900 km/h, 560 mph or 490 km at cruising altitude.
Emirates Airline
is the biggest A380 customer having ordered 162 planes out of which 103 have been delivered while the rest are still pending. The flight of A380 from Dubai to Islamabad is still being decided by the management and wouldn’t be a one-time thing. The airline is planning on scheduling one flight on daily basis from Islamabad to Dubai after the launch and aim to increase the number of destinations for the aircraft.
The configuration for the A380 is still unclear but it is hoped that business and economy class would be available. The exact date and launch time would be confirmed in a few days. The aircraft would receive a water cannon salute and hundreds of aviation fans would be present at the airport to welcome the flight.
